Manaslu Circuit Trek is a beautiful and challenging trek that circles the towering Manaslu (8,163 m) in western Nepal. The trail passes through lush forests, terraced farmlands, high valleys, and rugged mountain terrain. Along the way, trekkers visit traditional villages inhabited by Gurung and Tibetan communities, giving a close look at their unique culture and way of life.
One of the main highlights is crossing Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), which offers stunning views of Manaslu and the surrounding peaks. This trek is best suited for experienced trekkers who are ready for high-altitude walking and want a remote Himalayan adventure away from crowded trails.
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after your journey or explore the local area.
Today is reserved for preparing for the trek. You will meet your guide, check your trekking equipment, and receive an orientation briefing about the Manaslu Circuit Trek, including safety procedures and acclimatization tips. Accommodation remains at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.
Drive through scenic countryside and small villages to Machha Khola, the starting point of the trek. The journey offers glimpses of rural Nepalese life along the Budhi Gandaki River.
Trekking today takes approximately 5–6 hours along forested trails and small settlements. The route follows the river and passes terraced fields and local villages.
Today’s trek is about 6 hours, passing through traditional Gurung villages and rhododendron forests. The trail offers a mix of river valleys and cultural experiences. Overnight at a tea house or lodge in Deng.
The trail gradually climbs through dense forests and rocky terrain for about 5–6 hours. Namrung is a picturesque village with stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Accommodation is at a tea house or lodge.
Today’s trek of roughly 6 hours ascends steadily into higher alpine landscapes. Shyala offers panoramic mountain views and a peaceful trekking environment.
Trekking takes 6–7 hours, passing the historic Pun Gyen Gompa before reaching Sama Gaon. The village is a key acclimatization spot with views of Manaslu and surrounding peaks.
Spend the day resting and acclimatizing. A short hike to the Manaslu Base Camp viewpoint (4,400 m) allows trekkers to enjoy spectacular mountain views without overexertion. Accommodation is at a tea house or lodge in Sama Gaon.
The trail ascends gently to Samdo, a Tibetan-influenced village, over approximately 5–6 hours. Samdo is the last village before the high pass and offers glacier views.
Trek through high alpine terrain toward Dharmasala for about 5–6 hours. This settlement is the base camp for crossing the Larkya La Pass, surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. Accommodation is at a tea house or lodge in Dharmasala.
This is the most challenging day, approximately 8–9 hours. Cross the Larkya La Pass, then descend to Bimthang, enjoying sweeping Himalayan views along the way.
Descend through forests and river valleys for about 6–7 hours, then drive to Besisahar for your overnight stay at a guesthouse or hotel.
Drive back to Kathmandu, enjoying scenic views along the way.
A free day for sightseeing, shopping, or rest. Optional visits include Pashupatinath Temple or Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport according to your flight schedule. Your Manaslu Circuit Trek concludes with unforgettable Himalayan memories.
