Mera Peak (6,461m) is Nepal's highest trekking peak, offering a rewarding high-altitude adventure through the remote Hinku Valley. The journey combines stunning Himalayan scenery, Sherpa culture, and summit views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and more.

Classified as non-technical but physically demanding, it's ideal for fit trekkers with basic mountaineering skills. The climb involves glacier travel, crampons, ice axe, and fixed ropes. Best undertaken in spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) for stable weather and clear skies.

Detailed Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, expedition briefing and document verification will be conducted. Evening free for rest or short walk around Thamel.

This day is reserved for rest, final gear checking, and expedition preparation. You may explore UNESCO heritage sites or do last-minute shopping for equipment. In the evening, final briefing about the climb, safety procedures, and weather conditions.

Early morning scenic mountain flight to Lukla. After meeting the trekking crew, begin trekking through pine forests and traditional Sherpa settlements. Gradual ascent to Chutanga.
Trek duration: 3–4 hours

Today involves a steady climb toward Chetra La Pass. The trail becomes quieter as we leave the main Everest trail and enter the remote Hinku Valley region. From the pass, enjoy beautiful mountain views before descending slightly to our campsite.

We descend through dense rhododendron forests and alpine landscapes into the peaceful Hinku Valley. The trail follows a river valley with scenic surroundings before reaching Kothe, a small riverside settlement.

Following the Hinku River, we gradually gain altitude. The vegetation becomes thinner as we enter alpine terrain with wide-open valley views and impressive mountain backdrops.

Today’s trek takes us higher into the glacial landscape. As we approach Khare, the magnificent south face of Mera Peak dominates the skyline. The air becomes thinner, and we move at a steady pace to allow proper acclimatization.
Trek Duration: 4–5 hours

Essential rest and acclimatization day. We conduct short hikes to higher elevations and return to sleep at Khare. Basic mountaineering training will be provided, including the use of crampons, ice axe, harness, ascender, and fixed ropes to prepare for the summit climb.

We climb steadily across the Mera Glacier toward High Camp. The views open dramatically, revealing towering Himalayan giants including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Overnight at High Camp in preparation for summit push.
Trek Duration: 5–7 hours

An early alpine start (around 2–3 AM). The climb follows a gradual snow slope on the glacier using fixed ropes near the final section. After reaching the summit of Mera Peak (6,461m), enjoy one of the finest panoramic views in Nepal, including five 8,000-meter peaks.After summit celebrations and photographs, descend carefully to High Camp and continue down to Khare.

We retrace our steps down the Hinku Valley, enjoying easier breathing as we lose altitude. Return to Kothe for overnight stay.

Gradual ascent back toward Chetra La. The trail passes through forested sections and peaceful mountain landscapes.
Trek Duration: 6–7 hours

Final trekking day. Descend toward Lukla through forested trails and small settlements. Celebrate the successful expedition with your team in the evening.

Morning scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable rest after your Himalayan adventure.

A well-earned rest day in Kathmandu. Guests may explore cultural heritage sites, enjoy souvenir shopping, relax at cafés, or treat themselves to spa and wellness services. This day also serves as a buffer for any potential flight delays.

According to your international flight schedule, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey. The expedition concludes with unforgettable memories of standing atop one of Nepal’s most popular trekking peaks.
